How we source

Finding the watches worth keeping.

We look for vintage and collectible watches with character, originality and a reason to be remembered. Some are established references. Others are simply too interesting to leave behind.

It starts with the watch, not the name on the dial.

A familiar reference is not automatically a good watch, and an overlooked one is not automatically unimportant.

We pay attention to condition, originality, design, historical context and the small details that give a watch its character. The goal is not to build the largest inventory possible. It is to find pieces we would be comfortable adding to our own collection.

Rooted in Japan

Closer to where the story began.

Japan remains at the center of our search, but not the boundary of it.

It gives us access to watches that have spent much of their lives close to the market they were originally made for, including JDM references, uncommon dial variations and models that rarely appear elsewhere.

Age always leaves evidence. We do not expect vintage watches to look new. We look for honest examples where the case, dial, hands, movement and overall condition make sense together.

Useful information

01 / Originality

We look closely at the dial, hands, case, crown, bezel, bracelet and other visible components for signs of replacement, refinishing or modification.

02 / Condition

Sharp case lines and untouched surfaces are desirable, but honest wear is not something we try to hide. Condition is described as clearly as possible.

03 / Function

Each watch is checked for basic operation and known issues. Service history is included when it is available to us.

04 / Transparency

Vintage watches rarely come with perfect documentation. When something cannot be independently confirmed, we would rather say so than make an assumption.
