Seiko Brightz “Bombay Sapphire” Limited Edition SAGA155 – Solar Radio-Controlled World Time, 1 of 300

This is one of the more unusual collaborations in Seiko’s history. Brightz, Seiko’s upscale Japanese-market line, partnered with Bacardi, and this edition takes its colors from Bombay Sapphire gin. The deep blue dial and bezel echo the famous bottle, with pale blue and gold accents. Only 300 were made, and each is individually numbered on the caseback.

The sunburst blue dial carries a gold Roman XII, a retrograde day-of-week indicator at 10 o’clock set with seven sapphires, a fitting touch for a Bombay Sapphire edition, a dual-time subdial at 6, and the date at 3. The blue bezel is printed with world-time city codes, and even the crown is topped with a blue stone. On the back, a faceted gem pattern and the Seiko name sit on a mirrored blue panel, framed by the limited-edition number.

Inside is Seiko’s caliber 8B54, a solar-powered movement that sets itself by radio time signals from Japan, China, and the United States. It shows world time across 24 zones, keeps running for months on a full charge, and has a full auto calendar.
