Not every watch is worth collecting. We seek out the ones that are.
The Seiko 6138-0040, better known as the Bullhead, was introduced in the mid-1970s as part of Seiko’s advanced chronograph lineup. Its most distinctive feature is the placement of the crown and pushers at the 12 o’clock position — a design choice that improved ergonomics and gave the watch a bold, unconventional look.
Powered by the 6138 automatic chronograph movement, the Bullhead offered column wheel operation and day-date functionality, placing it among the most advanced chronographs of its time. Today, it is highly regarded by collectors for its distinctive design, robustness and importance in Seiko’s history.
A true expression of Seiko’s innovative spirit, the 6138-0040 remains a compelling choice for anyone interested in JDM chronographs and the golden era of Japanese watchmaking.
